How can you teach your children to see spiritually and not just physically?

It may be hard for some children to grasp concepts that are not tangible. However, when we as parents make decisions based on only what we see, we may miss many blessings in life. This directly can affect our children, as they may mirror our decision-making.

By teaching our children that God is more powerful and Jesus is more loving than anything and anyone, they may learn to view the world with their spiritual eyes rather than solely relying on what they see physically.

Some examples of ways you can help your child see more spiritually:

• Wipe away their tears when they are crying and ask them if they can see the love with their spiritual eyes.
• Tuck them in at night for bed and ask them if they can see the comfort with their spiritual eyes.
• When you stop them before they hurt themselves, ask them if they can see the protection with their spiritual eyes.
• If you comfort them after a bad dream, ask them if they can see God’s protection with their spiritual eyes.

It is important to make sure to express to your children that there are two spiritual worlds – one of good and one of evil (heaven and hell). Explain to them that although we cannot see heaven or hell, they do exist spiritually.
