Our children are being raised in Christian homes with a watered-down view of God’s word!

Bethel Congregational United Church of Christ – sounds like a wonderful Christian church. They are, after all, united in Christ. They state, “in keeping up our ‘reformed and reforming’ identity, we have embraced a movement that began in 2006 called Progressive Christianity. We don’t believe the Bible is the inerrant or infallible word of God. We don’t’ agree that Creationism should replace the science of evolution in public schools. We don’t believe that God hates gays. We don’t believe that people of other faiths are going to hell unless they convert to Christianity. We don’t deny the right of women to choose what happens to their bodies.” Then they go on to say that their “reformed and reforming” character was pioneered by Jesus. What Bible are they reading?

Jesus, who was raised in the Jewish faith, knew the Law and Prophets well. His purpose was not to start a new religious tradition. Instead, His purpose was to bring his people’s faith back to life, to make the reign of God a present reality.

The problem is that our children are being raised in Christian homes with a watered-down view of God’s word. As a result, they are not practicing true Christianity. Many Christian parents are unprepared to defend their faith and to teach their children to do the same.

Churches should have apologetic classes for parents and children. Churches should acknowledge this because the world is becoming increasingly hostile to Christianity, and anti-Christian views are growing stronger every day.

Truth is not subjective. It is not about how one feels according to the current trend of society. Rather, truth is based upon God’s inerrant Word, and we should teach the future generation this and prepare them if we are to have a Christian future!
