Sight, vision, and envision… all similar words with very different meanings!
Sight is what we see through our physical eyes, and vision is the ability to process what you see and to think about or plan something. Envision is to imagine as a future possibility – to visualize the future. Therefore, it is important to help children learn how to envision their future by helping them understand that once they know who they are in Christ, they can envision their life as one living in the Kingdom here on earth!
There are many ways we can help our children envision the vision God has for us – writing down the Bible verses that describe heaven and the Kingdom of God, making a list of what life would be like with and without Jesus, or reading specific Bible verses that talk about having the eyes of your heart opened. Lee Ann digs deeper into these ideas with more specific examples in this episode. Also, for more information, Episode 58 describes the difference between seeing with our physical and spiritual eyes.
