Interview with Scott Turansky – A Heart-based Approach to Parenting Lee Ann Mancini

Children need heart knowledge, not just head knowledge!

Scott is a father, speaker, author, and leader in Christ. He directed a preschool for eight years and is currently a counselor, a seminar speaker, and the pastor at Calvary Chapel Living Hope in New Jersey.

Dr. Turansky is the co-founder of the National Center for Biblical Parenting and Biblical Parenting University. Although he had no idea how big the ministry would develop, he knew that the heart-based, practical, biblical approach was strategic for helping Christian families reach their full potential.

Scott is committed to helping parents understand a heart-based approach to parenting. Although many parents use behavior modification to try to change their kids, he believes that approach is incomplete because it doesn’t consider that God created every person with a heart!

Scott discusses these three questions:

  1. Does raising obedient children not only help to save the soul of a child but also help to preserve Christianity? Can you give an example of a child being transformed to follow Christ?
  2. Can you explain the Instructional Routine, The Break, and any other tool you think is beneficial for disciplining young children?
  3. How can parents benefit from your wisdom and organization?
